Sign up for Summer Band!
Register for Summer Band.
The band directors are excited to meet your child in Summer Band! There are no fees for Summer Band, but you must obtain your own instrument and all necessary accessories (Step 2).
We start band in the summer because we can start each unique instrument in a separate class that is taught by one of our six BCSC band directors. For example, since everyone in the clarinet class is learning clarinet, the students don't have to wait for the teacher to spend equal time helping the flutes, saxophones, trumpets, trombones, and percussion! By attending Summer Band, when school begins in the fall in mixed-instrument classes, students have enough knowledge to begin playing as a full band.
Summer Band meets each weekday from Tuesday, May 27 to Friday, June 13.
Location: Columbus East High School
(See map below)
Session 1: 8:00 AM to 8:50 AM: Oboe, Clarinet, Euphonium, Trombone, Percussion
Session 2: 9:00 AM to 9:50 AM: Flute, Saxophone, Trumpet, Horn, Percussion
(Percussion meets for both sessions)
On June 10, 11, and 12, everyone meets from 8:00 AM to 9:15 AM
Friday, June 13 - twenty-minute concert begins at 9:00 AM (students arrive 8:15 AM)
On the first day, arrive about 15-minutes early for your class -parents can walk their student into the school and meet the director.
If you are purchasing the "Starter Pack" and renting your instrument from Paige's Music, everything your child needs will be in the appropriate classroom on their first day of class. If you are not using Paige's Music for your instrument or accessories, please take time to review the appropriate page in Step 2 so that your child has everything required for a smooth start to band -we get only one chance to give your child a great first impression of playing in band!
We are using Google Forms for Summer Band registration, so clicking on the link below will lead you to our page on their site. Please save your confirmation email so that if necessary you can make changes to your class selection without needing to contact your band director.
